Symetrical Arches

One of the Adminstrative building of Tamil Nadu Govt near Fort St. George in Chennai. I liked the way it has been designed. Capturing it in normal angle would have not given a good pic. So took this pic at a acute angle from side by sitting down. Applied Sepia filter and toned down the color a little. Hope you people will like it.
Any other angle that could have work ?

(ISO 80, f/2.8, Shutter Speed 1/500 sec)

This angle works fine with me. I think you did a good job on capturing the simplicity and the complexity of this building.
Good job. First time visiting your blog. I like it. You have an eye for composition and you seem to like architecture. Nice. I also like the fact that you're not afraid of adding your creative expressions to the photos (colors, etc). Keep it cool.

One word: AWESOME. I can't think of any angle that'd possibly do justice to this one as much.

Dont understand the effect and editing et all....All I can say is...It looks like a lonely stretched island ready to let the waves rough it around the edges and accept with gratitude the generosity of the mighty sea!!!

Hey dude...

I tried to get some photographs at a night party the other day. With no light except the flashing coloured lights and dancing people (rapidly moving subjects), I couldnt get anything without flash. Then I turned the flash on and all the photos I got were REALLY REALLY grainy, even on ISO200. What do (or would) you do in such a situation?

BTW, the flash was accidentaly on slow sync mode. Do you know exactly what is different in the slow sync mode? How & when can you use it best?

I wasnt using the party mode. I was on manual. I tried the aperture priority & the shutter priority both. Low shutter speeds were given a shot too but they were absolutely useless in the fast moving people. Best idea was to get the flash and a high shutter speed. It did work, I did get the photos but the noise was just too much. In fact, it wasnt really noise, it was more like random specks on the photos. Maybe there was some crap on my lens. I can only decide the next time I try the same thing again.

That camera TZ1, I suggested to Alice and I thought you'd like to know about it. I agree though. For a am-pro, its the best thing but for a wannabe pro, FZ-20 is the closest to a DSLR.

I dont really think Panasonic is REALLY bad on the noise factor. There are a lot of others who fare a lot worse. BTW, I checked the Panasonic site and it seems that the SS flash is used with low shutter speeds so that the background is visible too. Will have to try that tonight.

I got a 4 second shutter speed on the camera and got a SUPER photo of the moon and the hut alongside. No tripod !! 4 seconds is unbelievable sez my pro photographer colleague. Sheer luck, I say !! I'll put that up on the blog or give you a link to it soon.

External flash = lot of mess. Will get it only if its inevitable !!

I agre with you, a lot of things look amazing but look very dull in photographs and to make them look good, you have to do somehting like this. Great shot.
